Handbag clear out

With Christmas coming up its time to clear and clean out the wardrobes to make way for our new gifts and clothes that we receive every year.  Christmas is the time to give to others and its certainly not about receiving, so why not do something this special for people who are less fortunate than ourselves and try and make someone else's Christmas special.

This year instead of throwing away the unwanted Christmas gifts from last year or the handbags that haven't been used for a while, why not give them to charity or have a car boot to raise money for charity to donate so it helps to make sure that no one goes without a Christmas dinner this year.  Christmas is the time of the year that we spend too much money, eat and drink too much while spending time with family and loved ones, we tend to forget about the people that are less fortunate than ourselves so lets give back to the community and its simply done but help raising money or even buying an extra gift and donating it to charity.

So this year when all you lovely ladies receive your new designer handbags have a think do you really need all the other ones that are just lying there in the wardrobe, this new handbag that you have just received will take pride of place on your arm for the next few months so why not give an extra one of your handbags to charity.  Its nice to be nice ladies!!!  Check out the local charities nearby and give as much as you can please, everyone deserves a nice Christmas!!!!

SALES!!!!!!!!

So the questions is when is the best time to treat ourselves to a new handbag, now or wait to the sales??

With Christmas around the corner the panic is on to make sure we get everything on our family and loved ones Christmas lists but are we better to bid our time and hit the January sales instead, do we get more value for money if we wait or do we need the actual gift to open on the 25th December this is the question? What do we think ladies??

Personally I like to open my presents on Christmas day like everyone else, but if there is a chance I could maybe get 2 gifts if I waited a few extra days then I would rather wait,  I hate paying few price and waiting in enormous queues when as soon as it becomes the 25th December all the queues die down and nearly everything is reduced.

Waiting a few extra days sometimes isn't possible I know, especially when there is young kids involved, cant say to the kids oh Santa is coming later to us this year than all the rest of the kids!!! That would go down like a lead balloon but for adults this is do-able as a small gift to open Christmas day then sales afterwards can result in value for money.  A lot of the sales used to start Boxing day but now shops are starting sales earlier  with some shops even starting sales a week before Christmas.  The times are changing especially with most peoples shopping being done online now especially with guaranteed free delivery or fast track next day delivery.

So Girls that designer handbag that we really want, is it worth while waiting a few extra days to see if its reduced and we could possible get a nice small bargain of maybe even buy one get one free??  Personally I think so but what do you think???

Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton handbags are expensive but quality is unbelievable, you get what you pay for. For 6 consecutive years (2006 - 2012) LV was named the worlds most luxury brand,  So the question is ladies, what Louis Vuitton item are we going to ask for this year??

Louis Vuitton was a French entrepreneur and designer whose name is well recognised and well known in the fashion world.  Louis was born on 4th August 1821 in France and made his first career  move in 1854 as  trunk maker.  According to a Millward Brown 2010 study, Louis Vuitton is the worlds 29th most valuable brand, the brand itself is estimated to ne worth over US$19 billion.

Louis Vuitton is a well known designer brand and the LV monogram appears on most of the LV products ranging from luxury trunks and leather goods to ready to wear shoes, watches, jewellery, accessories and sunglasses.  In 1896 Georges (Louis Vuitton son) created the famous Louis Vuitton monogram to respond to copying of brand patterns, featuring diamonds, circles and flowers to distinguish the brand.
To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the monogram canvas in 1996, LV brand invited selected designers to create unique pieces of luggage.

On the 27th February 1892, Louis Vuitton sadly passed away but he had continued to work right up to his death.   His son was determined that the brand would not die with his father so has carried on the image and it has remained the luxury leather and lifestyle brand it remains today.

Celebrities and their handbags

Celebrities and their handbags

Celebrities have immense pressure to look their best everyday and when in the constant public eye they always have to been fashionable or it could come back to haunt them.

But what is fashionable??

Celebrities have been known to go out in their pyjama's with high heels and a designer handbag, is this a start of a new trend?  Is this becoming more acceptable? Or is it simply more acceptable because its accompanied with a designer handbag?

Personally I am the type of person that if I find something I like,  I tend to buy a few of the same items  in different colours,  this way you don't have to worry about wear and tear and will always have the item available as nothing worse going to buy the item again and its out of stock or season.

Pippa Middleton is the same with her Modalu handbags, which has been renamed Modalu's Pippa after her because of her love of the handbag.  Pippa has the handbag in every colour going and recently one is dangling from her arm everytime she goes out.  What is even better about Pippa's trend is that the bag costs £169, which is affordable

Another celebrity famous for their style in clothes and handbags and who has their own range and brand is Mrs Victoria Beckham.  Victoria is a total comparison to Pippa, as her limited edition crocodile skin version of her signature bag went on sale for £18,000.  Although Victoria was heavily criticised about the bags as it emerged that the bags were made from crocodile that were skinned alive but Victoria's press agents assured people that the animals used to make the bags were ethically sourced.  Not sure is this would be a bag that every girl would love to own or be able to purchase as probably out most peoples price range and people's beliefs.

10 designer handbags woman should own

Fashion is a fast paced, ever changing industry, buying a certain style of jacket or top which is fashionable right now, could be unfashionable in a few weeks time.  This is the nature  of the industry and puts a lot of pressure on woman in particular to keep up with the trends.
This is not the case regarding handbags, as they have a longer life cycle than clothes.  A small variety of handbags can be used all year for all occasions these are:

  • Classic black day bag
This bag will be the most used bag out of all the collection as its the safest choice if your unsure and also a great bag to take to work, formal and can be casual depending on the situation.  Black goes with anything and if ever in doubt about which bag goes with an outfit then you cant go wrong with this simple classic black day bag.
  • Neutral tote

Every girl needs a neutral bag to go with the pastel shades of clothes for the summer, also when the black is too severe a pale neutral colour can dress up a outfit.  This colour of bag can be used all year round as In the winter brown or tanned leather boots will match the neutral colour of the bag.
  • Day clutch

For during the day to attend girls lunches and appointments, nothing to dressy or over the top.  The simple day clutch is elegant and can be dressed up or down depending on the accessories.
  • Metallic  miniature

For special occasions , weddings, parties and nights out.  The miniature bag adds some colour and sophistication to any outfit, it is small so choose the essential and necessary  make up wisely as most of the time once the mobile phone is in there is not much room for anything else.
  • Weekend casual

For shopping or going into town,  this bag is great due to the space and the amount of items that the bag holds.  This bag can hold the essentials such as make up, perfume, umbrella and larger items such as a change of shoes or clothes if required.

  • Cross body party bag

For nights out or busy days.  Ideal for attending concerts or busy nightclubs where it can be difficult to keep an eye on your handbag, with a cross body party bag you have peace of mind that your handbag is always with you at all times.
  • Heritage

Classic vintage bags that can be used in any occasion, these bags never go out of fashion.  Investing in a heritage handbag will be the best investment any girl can make, as can be used year in and year out.
  • Fun

A fun bag, usually colourful and funky. A fun bag is usually a fashion statement and should be present in every girls wardrobe, its a let your hair down and have some fun, be adventurous and enjoy.
  • Spot of colour

Bright vibrant colours, can be all in shape and sizes of bags, its definitely a fashion statement and shows that all bags don't need to black and neutral, have some fun mixing and matching with accessories and clothes.  The more colours the better.
  • Weekender

Bag used at weekend whatever the choice of activity, can be used for an overnight stay at a hotel, or even just getting ready at a friends house for a girlie night out.  This bag is great because of its size and the amount of items that can fit into the bag, useful if unsure what outfit to wear, take them all and decide later.
